Nastassia "Tazzy" Janvier
Student Body President Candidate
Nastassia “Tazzy” Janvier (B.S. ’20) is currently pursuing her Master’s in Public Administration.
It is through the strength of those strong-willed and powerful black women that she humbly comes before you to state her tremendous joy and unwavering commitment to the Florida State University, as she passionately declares her intent to serve as the next Student Body President. Tazzy serves for all of those who have sacrificed in order for her to stand here today.
For Oluwatoyin Salau, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, Trayvon Martin, and many more.
Through her leadership, she has fought for our Seminole family through difficult circumstances to produce tangible and unimaginable changes for our community. Throughout the past four years, she has built relationships, communities, and coalitions that have pushed the needle forward for our university through the power of equity, justice, and unity.
Through her past experiences at FSU, from serving as NAACP Chapter President to Student Body Vice President, it is an honor to have dedicated her collegiate career to serving such a diverse population. Through trials and tribulations, it is Seminole love that has kept our hearts beating and mouths chanting the Fight Song. The road ahead is not easy, but she knows it is worth fighting for. In such chaos, both nationally and locally, we must remember that we, the people determine what our future will be. Together we will unite through a global pandemic, financial hardships, social inequality, and unrest. As the next Student Body President, she shall use her voice, experiences, and tenacious spirit in helping us define break barriers in this chapter of our FSU story by:
Acknowledging yesterday and appreciating today because tomorrow is a gift, not only to ourselves but our Seminole family.
Student Body Vice-President Candidate
Colbi Thykadavil is from Jacksonville, Florida, and is majoring in Business Management with a minor in Economics. She is a proud member of Kappa Alpha Theta, as well as Garnet & Gold Key. She has had the opportunity and privilege to hold leadership positions and be involved with Student Government Association, the Greek Community, and the FSU Bellydancers!
More than anything, she wants to encourage and inspire Florida State University students to reach for their goals and better themselves both personally and professionally. To help instill the notion that we should leave this place better than we found it for the next group of leaders. She will prioritize putting students first and managing these unprecedented times to unify our campus and work to cultivate our diverse community. Colbi was fortunate enough to find her passions at Florida State University, and she hopes to help others on their journey as well. She could not be more honored and excited for this year to come.
Student Body Treasurer Candidate
Kahleel Gray is majoring in Marketing & Management Information Systems. He has served Florida State as a 2019 Orientation Leader. He has previously been involved in the Black Student Union, Seminole Student Boosters, Sports Analytics Club, Case Competition Club, and the Sport Management Student Association.
Since his first semester on campus, he has been able to gain new experiences thanks to the resources provided by SGA. Whether it was traveling to Connecticut with the Business Case Competition Club or participating in the Black Student Union's Seminole Minority Leadership Institute, Florida State's student bodies' tuition dollars were transformed into opportunities that allowed him to become a better friend, student, and leader.
He is running for Student Body Treasurer because he wants each student on campus to feel their interests are supported, no matter how niche. His experiences outside the classroom have made Florida State feel like home, and his goal is for every student to be able to say the same during their time here.
